EDITING, LEADERSHIP, & TEAMBUILDING

idk what to put here lmfao

Editing

Whether it be a three sentence photo caption or a multi-page print story, I approach each piece I edit with the attentiveness and dedication all of my staffers deserve. I believe everyone has the potential to improve, and I want to maximize my role as an editor to help them unleash that potential.

Mini Lessons

For months, I have read through countless articles, compiled helpful videos, and pulled from my prior experience as a photographer to create resources and mini lessons to present to my staffers and offer as a reliable tool. Covering topics from strategies for different settings to how to edit, each presentation encompasses information to help with each stage of the photo process that I feel my staffers can improve in.

Organization

In order to ensure that every deadline is met, I have kept a running spreadsheet dating back to the beginning of the year of all of my staffers' tasks and any concerns I need to address. While only having two of my six staffers in my class period at first seemed like an insurmountable challenge to effective communication, it has forced me to reevaluate the way I use the time when we are all together so that they all receive the kind of individualized assistance they need and we are all always on task.

Teambuilding

I will always prioritize the creation of a supportive and comfortable environment for our entire staff above everything else, making sure they know I will always be there for them to turn to. Being on The Muse has helped me recognize the purpose of my life and sharing the stories of others in such an amazing space has brought me indescribable happiness that I want each and every staffer to be able to share and discover for themselves. Thus, through fun, relaxing activities, I consistently try to build an exciting and engaging atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
